If you believe the first bite is with the eye, then wait until the second one with this gloop. i give to you a recipe that is
all things to all people - tasty, super quick, and really quite healthy;
Ingredients needed are:
1 Large tin of new potatoes
1 Small tin of sweetcorn
1 Small tin of tuna (in brine)
1 Small tin of Mushy peas (look around and get the ones with no fat)
1 Package of Chilli con Carne mixture
250ml of water
Enough gravy granules to thicken
Pepper if desired for seasoning
The cooking it'self couldn't be simpler...
1. Open all the tins and, without draining, empty into the pan.
2. Heat until everything is hot.
3. Drain most / all of the liquid out
4. Mix the chilli con carne mixture with the water in a seperate container (i used a wine glass), then throw in
5. Heat it some more
6. Add enough gravy granules (i used Bisto Onion Gravy, yum) to thicken to desired consistency
7. Add a sprinkling of pepper if required.
8. Scoff.
I found this did 2 stacked bowls (and i mean bowls, not dishes), so
with rice n shit would prolly serve 3-4. I also did the math and found
the whole pan was about as bad for you as 1 packet of crisps. Just make
sure you read the labels and avoid the really cheap, sugary shite.
All in all, it came in at about 2 quid for everything, but would be
even cheaper with supermarket stuff (this was cornershop prices!).
all is well. I should be on telly...maybe UKTV Food or summit. I see a
programme called 'Cooking for Blokes - tasty shit you can eat from the
pan'. innit :)
